Shell sheets are created by laminating many thin pieces of shell together.

By doing this it allows the creation of shell pieces much larger and much thicker than what is available naturally, as a single natural piece.

For example, Paua shell blanks are available in a maximum size of 25 x 25mm, however we can easily create pieces 230 x 130mm and of any thickness using this lamination method.

We keep a small stock of very thin sheets (suitable for cutting with a craft knife or scalpel) - other sizes are made to order, please contact us for details.

Thin sheets of mother of pearl and other shell inlay materials, which have been laminated together from many smaller pieces to make a large sheet.  Can be - carefully! - cut with scissors or a sharp craft knife.  Available materials include white, gold, and black mother of pearl,paua, and abalone.
