Sanding sealer is essential to achieving a high quality finish. The quality of your top coats, of the paint and final clear coats, is almost entirely determined by your base coats and prep work.

Sanding sealer fills in the small scratches created when sanding the wood flat. It provides a base which can easily be sanded completely smooth. It also seals the wood, helping the top layers adhere properly and greatly reducing how much of the colour and top coats soaks in to the wood. This helps give a consistent finish and minimises wastage.

Sanding sealer is used on bare wood and prior to applying paint, tinted lacquers or the clear top lacquer coat.  It is essential if you want to achieve a high quality professional finish.  Sanding sealer fills in all the small scratches caused by sanding wood flat, giving you a smooth surface to work on.  It also seals the wood so less of the top coats of lacquer and paint are absorbed, thereby causing less wastage.

Our cellulose sanding sealer, available in clear and white, aerosols and neat (for use in spray guns), can be used under most common paint and lacquer types including nitrocellulose.  Our acrylic sanding sealer (available as an aerosol and neat) should only be used under acrylic paints and lacquers.
