Coloured & Tinted Lacquers

Coloured and tinted lacquers act as a base coat, giving a translucent finish to woods - some of the grain remains visible.

They can be used in combination to give classic sunburst effects, such as amber > orange, yellow > red > black.

Our light and dark brown tinted lacquers are also excellent for giving an instant aged effect to woods, parts such as binding, and other finishes - applied over cellulose paint or under a clear coat they can give the effect of years of natural discolouration.

All of our coloured and tinted nitrocellulose lacquers should be sealed in with a clear top coat.
